Hideout of the Crooks

Bassie and Adriaan get a blowout and Bassie asks for a key. Coincidentally, he rings the bell at the crooks' hideout and gives the code word 'the key doesn't fit'. Bassie receives a key, not a key to change the tire but the key to a safe containing the diamonds. Thus begins the adventure.

The terrain where these scenes were shot can still be recognized, especially from the chimney and the church in the background. The back door is the current emergency door of the restaurant located on the Markt.

Incidentally, the recording of the blowout took place in the Waterleidingstraat.

This scene with the door was filmed outside the storage area of ​​Distillery Van Toor on the Maassluisedijk 32 in Vlaardingen. The door was also the entrance to the residence of the crooks and the crook boss. Unfortunately, due to new construction, the storage area can no longer be seen from the outside.
