Phil brings Rita back to the hotel after trying his best to impress her in the time loops, with a series of conversations and activities that seem perfectly tailored to her preferences. Although Rita has a good time with Phil, she feels that he is trying to force her to love him. Despite his efforts, this day does not end as he had hoped. Filming took place at the Woodstock Opera House. In the film, the location is used as the hotel where Rita stays during their stay in Punxsutawney. The Woodstock Opera House is located at 121 Van Buren Street and is a major landmark in the city. The Opera House not only has film history, but also cultural significance. Famous artists such as Orson Welles have performed there in the past. Many Groundhog Day fans visit this location as part of their Woodstock film tour.
